New Marvel Writer Seanan McGuire Totally Geeks Out About the X-Men

Yesterday, Marvel's August solicits revealed a new Kitty Pryde story for this year's X-Men Gold Annual #2, exploring Kitty's first kiss at Summer Camp, presumably the summer before she joined the X-Men back in Uncanny X-Men #129. The comic will be written by award-winning author Seanan McGuire and Marco Failla. If you're not familiar with McGuire's work in the grown-up publishing world, perhaps all you need to know is that she's apparently a really big X-fan, as exemplified by her complete geek-out when the news of the annual broke.

McGuire took to Twitter to write:

And if you're thinking, sure, it's exciting to have your childhood dream realized…

…but surely she's calmed down by now, guess again.

She even bought the cover art for her own story:

And 12 hours later, in case anyone had missed it…

You could say she's a little enthusiastic about it is what we're trying to say.

X-Men Annual #2 hits stores in August.
