The Morrison Con Is On
Today, a whole bunch of people who expressed interest were contacted about the upcoming Morrison Con. Here's the letter sent to all;
You're Invited To…MorrisonCon
Friends,
Hi, I'm James Sime, some of you may know me from Isotope Comics in San Francisco. Please let me invite you to come and be a part of creating something truly unique together.
A number of weeks ago you heard a rumor about a thing called MorrisonCon, you may not have even been sure that it was real or what it might be, but the idea sparked some electricity in you and intrigued you enough to sign up for a mailing list. And today I'm thrilled to get to start satisfying some of your curiosity.
As the name implies, MorrisonCon is a convention curated by Grant Morrison, an intimate gathering featuring some of the industry's most exciting comic creators hand-picked by Grant. It is a weekend long celebration of these creators' work and people like you and me who love their comics.
Co-hosted and brought creatively to life by myself, Kirsten Baldock (of Isotope Comics), and Ron Richards (of iFanboy), with Grant and Kristan Morrison, the collaborative process behind this new approach to comic conventions was in part inspired by unique creative gatherings like the TED Talks and All Tomorrow's Party.
We'll be doing away with some of the more impersonal con traditions and creating a once in a lifetime opportunity for you to experience unprecedented access to some of the most talented people in the comics industry.
On a personal note, I couldn't be more happy to get to introduce you to some of my favorite comic creators, to have the opportunity to be able to shape treasured memories with you all, and to get to invite you folks to just come hang out with Grant Morrison and some of the people he finds inspirational for a weekend.
In the coming weeks we will be revealing more and more about Grant's featured guests, when and where the convention will be held and how you can be a part of it. Be sure to follow @MorrisonCon on Twitter, Like us on Facebook, and keep an eye on the ever evolving MorrisonCon.com so you don't miss a thing.
Tickets will go sale in May and you early adopters on this mailing list will get the first opportunity to hear about everything we have planned and be the first to get tickets for this amazing weekend.
Of course, a party is only as good as the people who attend and all of us involved with MorrisonCon are excited about all of you who are going to undertake this grand science experiment with us.
On behalf of Grant, his lovely wife Kristan, Ron and Kirsten, looking forward to seeing you this Fall.
