My Favourite Page From Today's Batgirl #35 Doesn't Have A Single Yellow Doc Marten in It
Batgirl #35 launches from DC Comics today. We've already run a preview and I did rather enjoy the scene where Barbara Gordon walks around the flat remembering how it was the previous night – and who was there. A very interesting use of comics that would be hard to replicate in other media.
But my favourite page occurs later in, in mid detective scene. With Barbara talking to two potential leads as to where her laptop may have gone walkabout. And it does it like this
Slivers of conversation, jumping back and forth, half in, half out, with one line smashing straight into another, with a colour scheme to delineate between the two scenes blinking back and forth like a metronome.
Okay, Austin Powers did it. But Batgirl does it so much better.
