A Duck And Mouse Cull At Boom?
Something missing from July solicitations this month were most of the Mouse and Duck books from Boom! The Disney-related books have been on the wane at that publisher since Disney bouight Marvel. First, the Pixar books disappeared before popping up at Marvel, including solicitations for the previously unreleased Cars 2 adaptation, then The Muppet Show went the same way, again with emphasis on the Disney collaboration with Marvel and now…
Well, the Duck and Mouse books have gone from new Boom! solicitations. The books are coming out, and June has issues of Chip N Dale, Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Uncle Scrooge, Walt Disney's Comics And Stories and two Uncle Scrooge collections.
July however? Boom! bring us Chip N Dale, Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales, a Donald Duck trade, a Disney Adventures trade and… and no new Donald Duck, Uncle Scrooge or Mickey Mouse issues for the first time since they started running these books.
Are we to expect a press release from Marvel/Disney announcing something involving Mickey and Donald soon? These are the signs we've been taught to recognise…
As ever, Marvel and Boom aren't talking, both giving me the cold shoulder on this one. I love the smell of a non disclosure agreement in the evening.
