Friday Runaround – Wackervison
ArchieWatch: Dan Parent is signing Archie Comics at Double Midnight Comics, in Manchester, New Hampshire on Sunday from noon.
BissetteWatch: Steve Bissette, talking about the injustice of Jack Kirby's estate continuing not to get payments from reprints of his Marvel comics or movies;
Work-for-hire does not, ipso facto, mean a creator or co-creator benefits not at all from their creations earning (in this case) billions for the parent corporation. I earn royalties on Swamp Thing to this day. Every quarter, they show up. I earn more royalties for John Constantine, Hellblazer; when the movie option yielded a movie, we each banked a $45,000 check from our fraction of a percent of our co-creator shares.
WackerWatch: This could become a feature in and of itself. Steve Wacker, on Brian Hibbs' incredulity that all of Marvel's books are being outsold by Aquaman.
I do think your surprise at Aquaman being a hit is little naive given the push he's gotten the past several years. He's a very recognizable character with the company's top selling creative team. It's hardly shocking the book is doing so well. I think it's a great comic…though i loved the Sub Diego stories, so what do I know.
I would so give Steve Wacker a column on Bleeding Cool. But for Monday, you'll have to settle for Lee "Budgie" Barnett…
LeeWatch: So Stan Lee is to be a playable character in the upcoming Spider-Man game. Will it really be possible to cause Stan to come to harm? Seriously guys, he's 89…
ConWatch: Anyone going to Staple in Ausin, Texas this weekend? Do let me know...
TeaserWatch: Peepholes, a new book by Laurie J. Proud from Blank Slate. I seriously want to read this comic.

This is Computo the Comic Link Conqueror speaking. I come for your women. But for now I merely collate comic-related bits and pieces online. One day I will rule. Until that day, read on.
They say I am a work in progress. The fools.
