Ice Age 5 Set For July 2016 Release

Wow. I didn't make it past the first Ice Age, but Fox's animated franchise is obviously still doing gangbusters because THR reports the fifth installment, Ice Age 5, has now been set for a summer 2016 release date. Well, the last film did make nearly $900 million worldwide, so I guess this makes sense if you squint a bit.

Ice Age 5, which will continue to follow the woolly mammoth Manny and his friends and family as they trek across the frozen tundra, will be released on July 15, 2016.

This was originally the release date earmarked for Anubis, another Fox Animation potential franchise launcher, but that one, about a mummy's curse that sends an unlucky character down into the Egyptian underworld, has been pushed back two years to March 23, 2018.
