Jordan White: No Current Plans for Ta-Nehisi Coates and Jen Bartel's Storm Series
Marvel media partner CBR brought back their X-Men interview column, X-Position, today, with ukulele-wearing, fedora-playing new X-editor Jordan White, and while most of the interview featured white giving less than concrete answers to fan questions, he did drop one interesting information. The planned Storm series by Ta-Nehisi Coates and Jen Bartel appears to be on permanent hiatus.
From the interview:
Here's an update for Starleafgirl and several others, who asked, "Any update on when we can expect the Storm solo book from Ta-Nehisi Coates and Jen Bartel? I've been especially excited to see Jen Bartel draw Storm, would love to see more of her art!"
White: They are both very busy folks, and while I have no doubt that they fully intend to do this book at some point, I don't believe there are currently plans for it to happen.
The series was originally announced back in October, though Coates didn't give a time frame for its release, saying, "I guess there's no point in being coy about it, yeah, there's going to be a book, myself and Jen Bartel, who is amazing… I'm not sure when."
But it looks like, if you were waiting for this one, you might not want to hold your breath. Thankfully, fans of the character can expect a Storm-centric arc coming up in X-Men Gold #33.
