Nerd Food: Halloween Macaroons From Kai Sweets
Kai Sweets located inside of the Mitsuwa Marketplace in Edgewater, NJ, is certainly ready for Halloween! The bakery offers traditional Japanese sweets, Japanese dishes, crepes, and macaroons. I'm not a huge fan of macaroons, but I am a huge fan of Halloween!
The top macaroon was chocolate, and was pretty darn good. It was very flaky and fell apart easy, but I guess that's the joy with macaroons. The bottom macaroon was pumpkin spice. I'm not the biggest fan of pumpkin spice outside of a latte, but this wasn't bad. The pumpkin spice was not over powering, but rather a subtle after thought. If you're able to get one of these next year, do so! But they do sell macaroons year round, and it's safe to assume they're all good!
