New Godzilla – Up From The Depths, Thirty Storeys High And On The Way To San Diego

As we enter the home straight towards the San Diego Comic Con, the rumors and leaks are starting to hit thick and fast and Latino Review have got their hands on an absolute doozy. They're reporting that whilst Legendary are officially presenting Pacific Rim to the world in Hall H, those gigantic monsters and robots and Idris Elba's magnificent facial hair movie will, in fact, be sharing the stage with their perfect stable mate: Godzilla.

If true, then this really is a double act of mint/chocolate chip, Morecambe/Wise proportions. It also opens up the possibility of some massively entertaining theatrics both at the presentation and when the movie hits theaters. I still remember the panicked response some people had to the footsteps approaching as the lights went down for Cloverfield for example. And, let's face it, if they don't have the colossal mecha of Pacific Rim, or at the very least their pilots, facing off against Godzilla, then they officially have no soul. Or, lawyers have got involved.

Godzilla is being directed by Gareth Edwards from a script written by David Goyer and then re-written by Max Baurenstein. The chances of this being the theme tune are, I suspect, absolutely minimal. Still, we can dream.
