The Difference A Hyphen Could Make To A Press Release

Bleeding Cool is a fan of typos. We embrace them, hold them to our bosom and love them deeply.

And that means we love other people's too.

So when Diamond Comic Distributors sent out a press release entitled "Oni Press Resigns Distribution Agreement with Diamond" some people were surprised.

That is until it was rapidly made clear that "re-signs" and "resigns" are a little too similar for comfort. A second press release clarifying the situation followed, saying;

I am pleased to announce that Oni Press has extended their distribution agreement with Diamond Book Distributors. Under the extended agreement, DBD will continue to provide sales, distribution, and marketing services for Oni Press, selling its graphic novels and other merchandise into book stores, mass-market merchandisers, libraries and other outlets worldwide through 2015.
