Returning to the NEC this weekend (March 22-23rd) is the MCM Birmingham Memorabilia and Comic Con, two huge events all under one roof. This con is probably Birmingham's biggest of the year and offers guests a wide array of opportunities to meet their favorite actors from TV past and present, with stars from the popular Sleepy Hollow rubbing shoulders with the likes of TV greats from the past, such as Peter Wyngarde (Jason King) and Catherine Shell (Space 1999).

Personally, I will be looking forward meeting 8th Doctor, Paul McGann, but I think my 8 year old daughter has her heart set on meeting as many cosplayers as possible, having been fascinated by my photos from the recent Telford con. Who know, I may even be able to talk her into going in her first cosplay herself. She seems keen.

The Comic Village sees artists such as Laura Howell (The Beano) and Lee Townsend (2000AD) as well as indie publishers T Pub, Subversive Comics and Light Man Comics, to name just a few. The full list can be read here. Each and every one of them I have met in the past could not be more accommodating with their time and it all adds up to a fun fan and family friendly con with lots to see and do from retro-gaming (I'm looking at you Mario Karts) to art competitions (guess what, the theme is superheroes, so get practicing).
