Decades-spanning comic book relationships often get controversial when the relationship takes a new turn or is shown in a new light — or perhaps more accurately in the case of today's Catwoman 1, when the relationship becomes more explicitly defined. There have always been sparks between Batman and Catwoman, from her very first appearance in 1940's Batman 1, but though we've already been talking about this relationship for 70 years, today's events guarantee that the discussion is far from over.
