Win Sword Training, Geek T-Shirts And Cool Graphic Novels With Bleeding Cool (UPDATE)
We're running a UK-only competition at Bleeding Cool this morning. All you have to to is retweet the Bleeding Cool tweet linked to this post before 1pm BST and follow @BleedingCool on Twitter. We'll be watching and at 1pm will hand out the following prizes (and edit this post to say who has won). Best put a proper RT at the beginning, such as
RT @bleedingcool: Win Sword Training, Geek T-Shirts And Cool Graphic Novels With Bleeding Cool http://bcool.bz/nkEafu
First prize:
We've arranged for a specialist sword master to be the Sacerdos to conduct a bespoke training regime to go through the ancient art of sword and buckler marital arts, which was first described by cleric Lutegerus in the 'I.33' manuscript of the 13th Century.
This intense combat training will take place in the eerie depths of the decaying chapel in Central London one afternoon of the week starting 15th August, so you'll need to be able to take a half day off work.
The training session has been arranged to coincide with the DVD and Blu-ray release of comic book adaptation 'Priest', the fast-pace action vampire film starring Paul Bettany, out a few weeks later on 5 September. Whilst in the tutelage of our robed Sword Master as "Priests in Training", you'll have the opportunity to:
- Develop footwork and feigns
- Learn basic swordsmanship, tactics and thrusts
- Understand the history of Western Swordsmanship
- Earn the mark of the 'Priest' cross
There will also be an opportunity to try out the Longsword and the techniques described by another fighting cleric; "Hanko, The Priest Doebringer" in his fechtbuch (fighting manual) of 1389.
You'll then have to tell Bleeding Cool all about it for an upcoming article.
