ShiftyLook Comes To London. With A Few Friends.
BleedingCool has been following how ShiftyLook has been investing in the comics industry of late. How it has employed studios to create webcomics using known creator names to revive forgotten or unknown gaming brands from the Namco Bandai stable.
And now it's doing something similar with comics conventions. Next weekend, Britain's lergest comics conventuion, the MCM London Expo, have basically handed over the comics side to ShiftyLook.
They've brought in creators such as Marv Wolfman, Ben McCool, Dean Haspiel, Matt Moylan, Dax Gordine and Jim Zubkavich to the UK – including the launch of Wolfman's comic for ShiftyLook on Friday in their panel at 4pm, with sketches and signings through the weekend, though you may want to register in advance at ShiftyLook.com.
The show also has Danny DeVito promoting The Lorax, which has still to open in the UK, as well as panels for Grimm, Primeval: New World, Once Upon a Time and Bedlam.
I won't be able to make it sadly, I'll be at the Phoenix Comic Con, launching the Bleeding Cool Magazine and hosting the Bleeding Cool Fan Awards. If you're going though, do feel free to report back. This is the first MCM I'll miss in years…
