Speak No Evil
My name is Justin Corbett, and for the past three years, I have hosted Comical Podcast – a comedy show about comic books. Over those three years, I have interviewed many different comic creators and have always finished those interviews with a desire to create a comic of my own. Back in January, a fellow podcaster from the Metal Geeks Podcast, George Tripsas, approached me with a film idea that he had always wanted to create, but could never afford to. I convinced him that we needed to make it into a comic book.
Speak No Evil is our first comic book series, and it is the story of two teenage brothers, Silas and Edwin, and how they accidentally open a portal to another dimension using the research of Nikola Tesla and HP Lovecraft. Instead of trying to shut down the portal, they figure out a way to make money off the situation by traveling around and offering to save various towns from the demons that have come through the portal, for a nominal fee.
The story is planned for twenty issues, and the first five are already written and ready to go. We successfully funded issue one through Kickstarter back in April of 2016, and now we're running the campaign for issue two. In fact, it was just selected as a featured project by Kickstarter!
Our goal is to raise $5000 to finish paying our artist (Samir Simao), our colorist (Chunlin Zhao) and our letterer (Ben Kreger), as well as to publish the book and acquire the rewards for our Kickstarter. We are currently 54% funded, with the campaign ending on October 31st.
Please check out Speak No Evil – Issue Two and back us if you can.
Any BLEEDING COOL readers who back this project will get a digital wallpaper collection of the variants that were offered with the issue one Kickstarter. When you pledge, simply comment on the project saying that you found us through BLEEDING COOL, and that reward will be yours!
