Two Things About The DC Comics 'Rebirth'

Two Things About The DC Comics 'Rebirth'As John Stewart used to say… two things.

Thing The First. I have been told to be careful about what I report regarding certain people being attached to certain projects. In that I understand that, just as with the New 52, some people are writing for an upcoming new comic book unaware that what they re doing is actually pitching for that comic – and competing with others for that gig. One person who I was guaranteed by some to definitely be working on a high profile book is not, I'm told, actually locked down on it yet and has competition. So I am treading carefully…

Thing The Second. The article that launched this big fuss, stated that the books were looking to align with the TV and film. And while there is some truth to that, it may be in titles only. I am told that the content will be aiming to be its own beast entirely and there will be no "lean into the film and TV stuff" aspect to the "rebirth/relaunch."

So, expect more Supergirl comics. But not necessarily modelled on the TV show. And other stuff as well. The aim is for "the comics should lead, not follow".

So I guess we're not to expect a ten year old Bruce Wayne running around the place. Shame.

And this is what the big boys have been teasing today…
