Ultimate or Amazing, It's Always Spider-Man Vs Green Goblin (Spoiler)

Ultimate Spider-Man #7 and Amazing Spider-Man #54 land tomorrow. Two comics, universes apart, both coming down to Peter Parker and Norman Osborn.

Ultimate Spider-Man #7 and Amazing Spider-Man #54 land tomorrow. Two comics, universes apart, both coming down to Peter Parker and Norman Osborn. This is the way of things. And this is going to be how they're getting Ultimate Venom right? Or at least how one or both of them go mad. In tomorrow's Ultimate Spider-Man #7 we have Ultimate Peter Parker and Ultimate Harry Osborn both doing some experimentation with their respective costumes, both from Ultimate Tony Stark, and both having Ultimate Doctor Octopus go through all the manuals, all the small prints, finding out just what they can do with these costumes in the first place. It turns out they could do quite a bit. There's a whole personality section where they can download some personality from somewhere, an artificial intelligence that can mimic some famous figure from history, or a military strategist who can advise them. And while doing that sounds fun, they've got their own ideas about what kind of extra voice they want to have in their head while fighting as either Spider-Man or the Green Goblin. And it's not really what you'd expect.

Ultimate Harry Osborn wants to bring his Ultimate dad back as an ultimate voice in his head. And Ultimate Peter Parker?

He's… a narcissist. What could possibly go wrong with either choice?

So Ultimate Peter Parker, wrapped up in his own thoughts, gets to fight Ultimate Norman Osborn as Green Goblin from beyond the grave. While Amazing Spider-Man #54 also published on the same day, sees Non-Ultimate Peter Parker also up against a version of the mind of Non-Ultimate Norman Osborne

While another electronic mind tries to fulfill its destint from the very earliest of Spider-Man times.

It's a question it has been struffling with for so very, very long.

But why, when all that can be resolved, is resolved, does Amazing Spider-Man #54 end with such a bang?

There is an Amazing Spider-Man #54, right? Right? There are solicitations… but are they true? Zeb Wells's finale is with #60 in October… what does this mean? Just the end of an arc or something more to take up such a lot of comic book real estate?
