Walking Dead #115 Sells 350,000 – The Best Selling Comic Of The 2013 So Far

Walking-Dead-115-oThat's in the direct market of course, Not counting the millions of One Piece or the even more millions of Asterix. But in the direct market of the US-and-affiliated countries, Walking Dead #115, out yesterday, had orders of 350,000. And at $2.99, it still smashed the million dollar retail ceiling that Infinity #1 just managed with a book twice the price and just north of 200,000 sales, and also beating the launch sales of Superman Unchained and Justice League Of America considerably.

Now, some people will have ordered all of the ten slot-together, tenth anniversary covers. But not that many.

There's no doubt it will be the best selling comic in the direct market for October. The question is though… can DC Comics' Sandman Overture #1 out next month top it? With 100% returnability and 100% paid-for store advertising, it could!

Either way, we can still look forward to Marvel talking about having the top selling non-non-superhero comic of the year at some point.
