Weather Closes Diamond Comic Distributors

bal-wx-what-forecasters-are-saying-about-thurs-007Baltimore is expecting six inches of snow today, as the winter weather reaches new peaks in the season.

THe National Weather Service projects up to 10 inches of snow in some areas by Thursday evening — though the storm might also fall well short of those projections. (National Weather Service image)
Rain is forecast to turn to sleet and then snow after midnight as temperatures dip below freezing. The National Weather Service is forecasting 6 to 8 inches of snow along Interstate 95 and 8 to 10 inches north and west of that.

With a winter storm warning is in effect from 10 pm Wednesday through 7 pm Thursday State Highway Administration and other transportation officials are again urging drivers to stay off the roads during heavy snowfall.

Which includes employees at comic book distribution comany Diamond, headquartered in Hunt Valley, Maryland, and all their big old trucks.

So if you are a comic retailer calling Diamond today, expect to leave a message. And if you are a store customer, maybe buy your retailer a soothing mug of green tea as they stress over orders and reorders…

They hope to reopen Friday.

The Olive Branch Diamond warehouse is also hit by snow and had closed yesterday, as UPS were not on hand to pick up reorders. And stores serviced by Olive Branch may get late shipments next week.

Maybe add a couple of danishes to that cuppa…
