When Did Lois Lane's Dad Stop Being A Senator?
Here's a curious one. In today's Superman #44, we see Lois Lane's father, congratulating her daughter on her scoop, revealing his identity to the world as Clark Kent. Though she doesn't seem too pleased.
Putting on the John Stewart hat, two things here. First he's being referred to as General Sam Lane again, not Senator. So he's not Denator any more, and he is acting in his military capacity.
Okay, it's partially the rolling back of some New 52 changes, being brushed under the carpet in mixed mataphor. Maybe there's a way we can tie them together in our heads? We've also asked about the absence of Lois Lane's boyfriend during all this time, especially having a naked Clark in her bed... could it be that Sam Lane killed Jonathan Carroll in a fit of murderous rage at his daughter's relationship and the ensuing fuss saw him forced to step down as Senator? But not as General? No that doesn't work…
But what was that about General Lane using US army troops on American soil, to protect the Daily Planet from an American citizen? I'm sure there's a law against that… time for me to hit the analysis.
