Evercade Announce The Oliver Twins Collection Cartridge

Evercade revealed this week that they will be releasing a new retro cartridge later this year featuring the games of the Oliver Twins. This special edition cartridge is a project between Codemasters, The Oliver Twins, and Evercade, with all profits going to the National VideoGame Museum charity. It will include 11 of their games including Treasure Island Dizzy, Fantastic Dizzy, Go! Dizzy Go!, Dizzy The Adventurer, Panic Dizzy, Wonderland Dizzy, Mystery World Dizzy, BMX Simulator, FireHawk, DreamWorld Pogie, and Super Robin Hood. No official date has been announced for the release beyond the window of Q3 2020. Here's a few quotes from all the involved parties about the release, along with some screenshots of the games.

"We were really excited to hear about the Evercade. It promised to be an awesome way to play officially licensed Retro games, either on the move or the TV – with classic collectable Cartridges. It was well designed and a great price. What could be better?! Then they reached out to Codemasters and us to ask permission for a special Oliver Twins collection which would include 11 of our classic 8-bit console games! That now makes it the best Retro console in our eyes and we're really pleased that thousands more people will be able to enjoy the games we wrote around 30 years ago! The lovely people at Blaze and Codemasters have also agreed that ALL profits and licencing royalties go to charity," said Philip & Andrew Oliver, AKA The Oliver Twins.
"We're incredibly pleased to support this project, which helps a worthwhile cause while also celebrating some truly classic gaming IP (and a piece of the Oliver Twins'/Codemasters' shared history)! Collaborating with the twins, and Evercade, to make this happen has been an absolute pleasure," said Toby Evan-Jones, VP, Business Development, Codemasters.
"When we first put this project together, we had a shortlist of titles that were genuine influences on our gaming lives and Dizzy was firmly on this list. We have been fans of the Oliver Twins for as long as we can remember, not just for their quality games, but for their legendary status in the video games industry. It has been an absolute pleasure putting this together and we genuinely cannot wait to release this cartridge. It is also great that through this project, we can give back to the gaming community with all of the profits going to the National Videogame Museum," said Andrew Byatt, Director of Blaze Entertainment.
