Today Is The Last Day To Get Friday The 13th: The Game
Would you like to own Friday The 13th: The Game? Today is the last day to get it on PC before the game officially becomes unlisted.
Article Summary
- Last chance to buy Friday The 13th: The Game on PC as it gets delisted today.
- The game's unique multiplayer horror experience launched back in 2017.
- Licensing issues halted content and led to the shutdown of game servers.
- Purchased games remain playable until December 2024, with no further support.
One of the best horror multiplayer games will be going away by day's end as Friday The 13th: The Game will be delisted at the end of the year. Developed by IllFonic and published by Gun Interactive, the game took the PvE horror system to a new level as players took on the role of campers who would work together to survive against one person playing the role of Jason Voorhees. The game had a lot going for it when it launched in 2017, but that goodwill and momentum were practically snuffed out due to the ongoing ownership issues over the license to the property, which caused the game's planned content to carry it on to be canceled, and eventually, the game's servers were shut down. There have been active Quick Play lobbies and Private Matches available, but that's all about to go away for anyone who doesn't own it.
Earlier this month, Gun Interactive let players know on Twitter/X that the game's license would officially end on December 31, 2023. This means that at the end of today, if you haven't purchased Friday The 13th: The Game, you will no longer be able to do so, as it will be delisted from all services.
Now, that doesn't mean you can't keep playing the game; you'll still be able to access it after it's taken down. However, one of the developers pointed out that you won't be able to do that forever, as all services for the game of any kind will end in December 2024. So you have a solid year still to play with your friends before it's basically a title that will sit in your library forever. Hopefully, that will spark some people to play it on Twitch and get in a few more late-night gaming parties before the game comes to a quiet end.
