WatchMojo announced this week that they have teamed with Mark Cope to create a brand new tabletop game, as the team revealed Terrible Influence. This is a game all about being an influencer as you build your career up and seek out fame, money, and power. All while doing some questionable things along the way to get there, including throwing your opponents under the bus in the process. The game is aiming to launch a Kickstarter in 2025, but it will be on display this week at PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia for people to try out from December 6-8.

Terrible Influence

Role-play and develop your own super-star personas, drawing in (possibly deranged) fans and as much wealth as possible while triggering juicy scandals only the best PR team could sweep under the rug. Survive Leaked DMs, Internet Trolls, and other Cancel cards with ease… because in this game, just like in life, with enough money and power, anyone can achieve massive fame without any consequences!  Rise through the levels of influence as a funny as hell podcaster, a vlogger who actually has talent, or a brilliant at marketing reality TV star, among other starting classes. Kickstart your character's careers from scratch and watch them flourish (or flounder) under the microscope of the totally merciful public eye and against scandals, cancels, and the spite of other players.

Gain valuable skill cards like Incredibly Good Looking OR Great Personality — however you can't use both of those in the game, because let's be honest, no one on earth has both. Role-play and act out lucrative scenarios like sponsor ads or acceptance speeches to secure more money and help you climb to the top of power. In the end, the players use all the fans and money they've accumulated throughout the game to become president! Because after all… it doesn't matter what horrible deeds you did along the way. In this game, if you have enough fame and money, you get to do what you want, be what you want, and the rest of us just get to hate you for it.

"The game is a comedic and frankly cynical journey through our modern society, where players try to earn as much money and fame as possible in order to win the game and become President," said Mark Cope, Creator and Lead Designer of Terrible Influence. "The real humor comes from the wild bonuses and absurd scandals throughout the game, and if I'm honest, those are pulled more from real life than satire."
