Claudia Kim is Playing Nagini in The Crimes of Grindelwald

There was a final trailer released today for the upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and with it came the reveal of who Claudia Kim is actually playing.

Claudia Kim is Playing Nagini in The Crimes of Grindelwald

According to multiple sources, Kim (Marco Polo) is playing Nagini, a circus performer who becomes incredibly important to the rise and fall of The Dark Lord Voldemort in later years. Entertainment Weekly says Nagini is a member of Circus Arcanus, the traveling carnival where she puts on a very convincing transformation act for muggles.

Kim spoke to EW a bit about the character, that there is a blood curse in play during the events of The Crimes of Grindelwald (that take place in 1927):

"It will be so interesting to see another side of Nagini. You've only seen her as a Horcrux. In this, she's a wonderful and vulnerable woman who wants to live. She wants to stay a human being and I think that's a wonderful contrast to the character.

She does feel sometimes it's not controllable. She is bound to [permanently] transform at some point to a beast so she feels this pressure that the clock is ticking.

She has powers that are yet to be explore. I can't confirm she has powers like wizards have. And she doesn't have a wand."

Apparently, Nagini will become friends with Credence (Ezra Miller), after the outcast runs away to join the circus. "Sometimes I introduce myself as 'Credence's only friend,'" Kim says. "It's amazing these two broken souls are able to form some kind of friendship within the circus. Credence is special to her because he encourages her to use her power."

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is set to hit theaters on November 16th, 2018.
