First Look at Young Newt in New Image from Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
It looks like we're going to get a flashback in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. We found out in the first movie that Newt Scamander was expelled from Hogwarts for endangering human life, and if this new image from Entertainment Weekly is anything to go by, we might get to see what exactly happened there. According to Eddie Redmayne, who plays the adult version of Newt, we're also going to learn more about his relationship with Leta Lestrange (Zoe Kravitz) as well.
"Leta, it's one of those relationships where there was definitely great love there," Eddie Redmayne says. "But was it ever a full-blown relationship? I don't know. But certainly, she's somebody who has touched him hugely. At the beginning of this film you realize she's now in a relationship with Newt's brother so, of course, that comes with great complications."
It's always fun when we get to see even more of this time period we're unfamiliar with when it comes to the Harry Potter universe. We didn't get any flashbacks in the last movie, but seeing a world around World War I and the early 1900s could be a lot of fun to explore — even if it's just for a few scenes in each movie.
