GrantWardOkay, at the midseason finale everyone's favorite former SHIELD agent to hate, Grant Ward, returned from the alien planet a wee bit different. Okay, he was dead then alive with an evil force inside of him. Lots of speculation happened. Turns out we had it right. Ward (Brett Dalton) is now possessed by the Hive.  It's a collective of genetically engineered parasites that take over a host body and become the embodiment of the HYDRA ideal.TheHive

The identity was confirmed by Elizabeth Henstridge while at Wizard World Portland. She was asked about playing Jemma Simmons and the constantly shifting dynamics of the show. Part of her response was: "…and now Ward is Hive and takes on the memories of people he's killed, so that's going to have some interesting situations."

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD returns on March 8th.
