Laurence Fishburne Isn't Sure He'll Return to the DCEU

There aren't very many people who have starred in both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Extended Universe, but the great Laurence Fishburne is one of them. Fishburne got the chance to work with Zack Snyder as Perry White in both Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but he also made the jump to Marvel this month as Bill Foster, aka Goliath, in Ant-Man and The Wasp. In both of these universes one appearance usually means you're set to come back again, but in an interview with Den of Geek Fishburne wasn't so sure Warner Bros. and DC were going to knock on his door again.

"I don't think I'm still on call. I was unfortunately unable to go do some work on what turned out to be the Justice League movie," he said. "I don't know that I need to go back or if they'll have me back or not, but I was grateful to have been a part of it. I loved working with Zack (Snyder), I think he makes an incredible superhero movie. I'm just excited to be a part of this (the MCU) now."

Laurence Fishburne Isn't Sure He'll Return to the DCEU

This is a shame, because Perry White and The Daily Planet are both huge parts of Clark Kent's life, and we are still waiting to have another Superman movie in this universe. It's kind of hard to do Superman right, and now have those elements of the character there. Fishburne also did something interesting with White in that he played the character like a man who knew that print journalism is circling the toilet and was kind of pissed off about it. It's a fun take, and it's unfortunate we might not get to see it again.

As for Bill Foster and another appearance for him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? We'll have to see, but considering the reception to Ant-Man and The Wasp and the solid box office take (so far), the odds are looking pretty good.

Summary: As Scott Lang balances being both a Super Hero and a father, Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym present an urgent new mission that finds the Ant-Man fighting alongside The Wasp to uncover secrets from their past.

Ant-Man and The Wasp, directed by Peyton Reed, stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Hannah John-Kamen, Michael Douglas, and Michael Peña. It's out now.
