New Trailer for Netflix Time Travel Drama "See You Yesterday"
Netflix continues to push the bar with new feature length content, and have been bringing pretty big names on board, too. Spike Lee is the executive producer behind See You Yesterday, a time travel film about two genius kids who use their invention to deal with an all-too real problem.
Here's the trailer for See You Yesterday, which will be released to the streaming service on May 17th:
High school best friends and science prodigies C.J. and Sebastian spend every spare minute working on their latest homemade invention: backpacks that enable time travel. But when C.J.'s older brother Calvin dies after an encounter with police officers, the young duo decide to put their unfinished tech to use in a desperate bid to save Calvin. From director Stefon Bristol and producer Spike Lee comes See You Yesterday, a sci-fi adventure grounded in familial love, cultural divides and the universal urge to change the wrongs of the past.
See You Yesterday is directed by Stefon Bristol, who also co-wrote the script with Fredrica Bailey. The film stars Eden-Duncan Smith and Dante Crichlow as C.J. and Sebastian, who try to use the back-pack mounted time machines they created to stop C.J.'s brother from being wrongfully killed by a cop.
Bristol decided to write See You Yesterday in 2014 after a couple of high-profile killings at the hands of police:
I started this project when Mike Brown and Eric Gardner were murdered. That was in 2014. And we are still dealing with deadly police misconduct. I made this film because I don't want the conversation on police brutality to slow down
See You Yesterday also stars Brian 'Astro' Bradley, Marsha S. Blake, Johnathan Nieves, Myra Lucretia Taylor, Wavvy Jonez, and Ron Bobb Semple.
