"Negotiations between the AMPTP and SAG-AFTRA have been suspended after SAG-AFTRA presented its most recent proposal on October 11," began the statement from the AMPTP after Wednesday's meeting had wrapped no closer to a new deal.

And it looks like AMPTP is looking to the feds for some relief, requesting the assistance of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service – but one big problem right from the jump? If SAG-AFTRA was to agree to federal mediation, then another extension to the negotiations would be required.
