Gotham Season 4: Cory Michael Smith on Who Nygma Gets to Play With
One of the ways Gotham has kept things fresh over its four seasons is the way the group the large number of characters they have. For a long time it was Selina (Camren Bicondova) and Bruce (David Mazouz), but then she was with Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett-Smith) for a while and is now with Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas). Other characters have moved about as well. Lucius Fox (Chris Chalk) went from working with Bruce to working for the GCPD. Edward Nygma (Corey Michael Smith) was part of the GCPD before killing people and befriends Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), then he hooked up with Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) and the others until finally he's now with Grundy (Drew Powell) and Lee Thompkins (Morena Baccarin). The constant changing groups keep the dynamics changing as well.
And we know we're going to be seeing a lot of Jerome (Cameron Monaghan) and Penguin coming up, there was something magical about Edward and Oswald. TVLine asked Smith about the two of them interacting again and who else Nygma might have to deal with going forward:
There's a really interesting 'alliance' where Penguin and Riddler find each other again. There's some fun stuff between Gordon and Nygma toward the end of the season, that has to do with Lee Thompkins.
Riddler seems to have a thing for Lee now; that should make for an interesting triangle once Jim learns the Lee is still in Gotham.
Gotham airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
