House of the Dragon: Did Matt Smith Reveal Season 2 Premiere Month?

We know that HBO's House of the Dragon Season 2 is set for Summer 2024, but did Matt Smith just narrow down that premiere window a bit?

It would be safe to say that December 2023 was a pretty good month for fans of HBO & Showrunner Ryan Condal's House of the Dragon. Along with the confirmation that the second season would hit screens in Summer 2024, they were also treated to a pretty intense teaser offering glimpses of what's to come. Not long after – on his Not a Blog site ("A Visit to Old Blighty") – George R.R. Martin shared that work was continuing on – with a third and fourth season in mind. Now, less than a month into the new year, those same fans may have also learned the return month for HOTD. Joining BBC's The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show for "Friends Round Friday," Matt Smith (Doctor Who) was asked by host Zoe Ball (with Davina McCall and Frank Skinner) when we can expect Season 2 to kick off. "August, I think. I think summer, this summer, yeah," Smith responded. The actor also shared that although filming wrapped last year, he hadn't seen any of it yet – and that there was still some ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) and other post-production work that needed to be done.
