"Killing Eve" Casts 7 Potential Villanelle Victims for Season 3
BBC America and AMC's Killing Eve is making some major additions to the third season of Phoebe Waller-Bridge's award-winning ratings juggernaut. With production currently underway, Gemma Whelan (Game of Thrones), Pedja Bjelac (Harry Potter), Camille Cottin (Call My Agent), Steve Pemberton (Inside No. 9), Raj Bajaj (A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding), Turlough Convery (Ready Player One), and Evgenia Dodina (One Week and a Day) are set to join returning stars Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, Fiona Shaw, and Kim Bodnia.
Harriet Walter (Succession, The Crown) and Danny Sapani (Harlots, The Crown) are previously-announced additions to the season – and all nine share one thing in common. To no one's surprise (especially if you're a fan of the show) little is being revealed about what role each will play – especially considering where things were left standing when the smoke settled and the credits rolled on the final season (news based on exclusive Entertainment Weekly reporting)
Suzanne Heathcote (Fear the Walking Dead) will join the third season as lead writer and executive producer, with the series expected to pick up immediately following the second-season standoff between Oh's Eve, Comer's Villanelle, and Shaw's Carolyn. Heathcote executive produces alongside Waller-Bridge, Oh, Sally Woodward Gentle, Lee Morris, Gina Mingacci, Damon Thomas, and Jeff Melvoin – with Nige Watson producing.
Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer reprise their critically-acclaimed performances as Eve (Oh), an MI6 operative, and psychopath assassin Villanelle (Comer) in this story of two women, bound by a mutual obsession and one brutal act. Beginning just after the end of the final episode of season one, Villanelle has disappeared, and Eve is left reeling, having no idea if the woman she stabbed is alive or dead. With both of them in deep trouble, Eve has to find Villanelle before someone else does…but unfortunately, she's not the only person looking for her.
BBC America's Killing Eve also stars Kirby Howell Baptiste (Downward Dog) as Eve's assistant Elena and David Haig (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Penny Dreadful) as Eve's colleague Bill. Adding to the ensemble cast are Darren Boyd as Frank, Sean Delaney as Kenny, and Owen McDonnell as Niko.
Killing Eve season 3 is expected to return to BBC America some time in early/mid-2020.
