New Justice League Action Short Has Fun With Kryptonite
The latest Justice League Action short is called True Colors and it has fun with both Firestorm and the many color of Krytonite. The 2 minute story has Superman in a fight with Metallo when the villain opens his chest compartment to reveal his green Kryptonite heart. Firestorm arrives and Dr. Martin Stein tells Ronny Raymond to quickly turn the dangerous mineral into lead. Ronny doesn't quite remember the molecular compound and turns it into Red Kryptonite which induces Superman into a rage.
His second attempt make Gold Kryptonite, which causes amnesia, then Black Krytonite which splits him into two based on personality ala the third Superman movie. This was introduced in an episode of Smallville. He then turns it into Pink Kryptonite which changes Superman into Superwoman who the proceeds to kick Metallo's butt for a while. Ronny then remembers where he wrote the formula down and turns the kryptonite into lead… making Metallo pass out and turning Superman back to his old self.
It's a quick, fun little video that plays on the various kryptonite colors introduced over the years of comics. Though in the comics, Red Kryptonite effects Kryptonians in various strange ways, Gold Kryptonite robs them of their powers and the only appearance of Pink Kryptonite was in Supergirl Vol 4 #79 where it was hinted that exposure changed Superman's sexual preference temporarily.
