The Gifted Season 2: New Promo, Trask Industries, and a New Mutant
The second season of X-Men TV show The Gifted premieres its second season late next month and we have a new promo that shows some more of the new mutant named Reeva Payge (Grace Byers). The promo is mostly about the ideals of the Hellfire Club versus the Mutant Underground.
Nexrt we have an interview with showrunner Matt Nix at /Film and he talked about how they're not really going to do too much more with Trask Industries.
"We did Trask last year," Nix said. "This year we're doing another sort of comic related organization so basically what we try to do is we break our stories. Then we figure out okay, what does this resonate with in the comics? So there's a really interesting back and forth for us and the comics of like oh okay, now we need this. Then we'll go to the comics and go, 'If we pull this from the comics, what is it?' Then that influences the story. It's always a back and forth. This year it's not Bolivar Trask but it's another company."
Finally, Nix talked about a new mutant he was able to create for the show.
"I can't say a whole lot about her, but there's a fun character called Twist who comes out and plays a big role in the season," Nix said. "Twist will appear in [episode] four or five."
Last season the big new mutant that Nix came up with was Marcos Diaz aka Eclipse (Sean Teale). It looks like he's going to play an interesting role in this second season with him and Lorna on opposite sides.
Summary: In a world where mutated humans are treated with distrust and fear, an institute for mutants battles to achieve peaceful co-existence with humanity.
The Gifted, created by Matt Nix, stars Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker, Natalie Alyn Lind, Percey Hynes White, Sean Teale, Emma Dumont, Jamie Chung, and Blair Redford. It will return on September 25th.
