Tracy Morgan is The Last O.G. in New Trailer from TBS

TBS has released the first trailer for their new sitcom, The Last O.G. In the new series, Tracy Morgan (30 Rock) plays a man getting out of prison for the first time in 15 years to find the his girlfriend has moved on, he has two kids, and Brooklyn has changed drastically. Morgan's character, Tray, is coming back to a world the he doesn't know and he has to try to make something of his life; make up for the time he missed with his kids; and try to adjust to 2018 — which, by the looks of the trailer, isn't going to exactly go smoothly.

Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip) plays Tray's ex-girlfriend Shay, who's raising their twins Amira (Taylor Mosby) and Shazad (Dante Hoagland) with her white husband Josh (Ryan Gaul). The show also stars Cedric the Entertainer who plays Mullins, the guy running the halfway house Tray lives in. That should be the source of a lot of comedy right there. In the trailer we also see Tray find a job at a Starbucks-style coffer place, which I think you need the patience of a saint to work at.

The series looks like its a comedy with some serious undertones, and while it might slip into classic sitcom situations, Morgan and the cast have the ability to elevate it to more of a comedy about life. I hope they will.

The Last O.G. premiers April 3rd at 10:30 p.m. ET on TBS.
