DC Go To War On $2.99 Price Point

New solicitation statistics present some interesting trends in the $2.99/$3.99 price point battle.

The DC Universe's percentage of $3.99 titles has almost doubled – not by abandoning the $2.99 price point for those titles, but by adding another 15 $3.99 DCU titles. A number of which are standard sized comics, such as the new war line on on shots, Our Army At War, Weird War Tales, Our Fighting Forces, G. I. Combat and Star Spangled War Stories.

That's one way to try and improve market share.

Wildstorm sees the amount of $2.99 titles it carries more than halve and the $3.99 books more than double, with Tom Strong, Ratchet & Clank, Wetworks and more joining the four follar club.

For Marvel there is little change, in fact percentage-wise there is a small shift towards $2.99. However, DC are far more likely to choose to have extra content in their $3.99 books than Marvel.

And someone seems to be using Bleeding Cool $3.99 articles to rouse the masses on Facebook…
