Everything's Coming Up Celestial At Marvel (SPOILERS)

WARNING – There are spoilers for certain Marvel titles published today.

In Uncanny X-Men of late, we've had a Celestial standing around near Utopia, which became a major plot point for Sinister's machinations recently that saw the X-Men have to stare down the coming Celestials, god-like aliens responsible for the mutations in humanity, and created by Jack Kirby in The Eternals in the seventies.

In Uncanny X-Force, we've had Psylocke shoving a Celestial seed into Archangel and transforming him into something… new.

David Lapham has talked about their involvement in the new Age Of Apocalypse series.

Jonathan Hickman has been having the Future Foundation dealing with Celestials, and today's FF #14 kicks that up a notch, with Doctor Doom and a Reed Richards staring them down.

While in Fantastic Four #602, the big reveal today (I said there would be spoilers, but to be fair, solicitations have done their job of that as well) is that Galactus has arrived for a Celestial showdown.

Hickman is of course one of the Marvel Architects. As is Jason Aaron, intimately part of the current Xbooks. We now know that in Avengers Vs X-Men, the returning Phoenix Force will be seen by the X-Men as a way to revive the mutant population on Earth after the events of House Of M. As the solicitation for Avengers Vs X-Men #1 reads;

Does The Return Of The Phoenix To Earth Signal The Rebirth Of The Mutant Species? That's What The X-Men Believe! • Unfortunately, The Avengers Are Convinced That Its Coming Will Mean The End Of All Life On Earth!

Considering the Celestials were responsible for mutant life on Earth, could the Celestials be about to become rather important to this story as well? They do seem to be the new Norman Osborne after all – they're everywhere!
