Kickstarter Wars: Joshua Black Vs Blackwood

Bleeding Cool has received a number of complaints concerning Jesse Grillo of Bleeding Ink Productions, representing other artists' work as his own, launching online attacks against anyone who points this out, and using multiple aliases to bolster his own position online. But, you know, he's hardly alone in that sort of thing and hadn't quite put his head over the parapet.

joshuaBut now he seems to have gone a little further. A few months ago, Martin Dunn observed that Grillo had launched a Kickstarter to fund a book called Joshua Blackwood, that seemed to have a rather similar concept to his own project, Joshua Black. He objected online and though the concept stayed the same, Grillo changed the name to Blackwood. That seemed to be enough.

Re:JOSHUA BLACK: The Hierarchy of Christ

Description of copyrighted material: The copyrighted work that was infringed upon is our comic-book series, Blackwood. The story of a man who begins to see creators from Heaven and Hell and is inherited the kingdom of heaven. The Kickstarter for the project that was funded months ago. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bleedinginkprod/blackwood

Description of infringing material: JOSHUA BLACK is a dark comedy/fantasy series that follows a reluctant teenage deity who has inherited the throne of heaven.

That is quite a trick. Dunn's Kickstarter project has now been suspended.
