How The Marvel Universe Is Coping With CIvil War II This Week
So Ulysses is the new Inhuman who can see the future – either by working it out mathematically with probabilities, or having visions, depending on who you ask. Something Captain Marvel became very keen on, and Iron Man became very anti – despite having created similar technology himself.
In Civil War II: X-Men #1, Captain Marvel has recruited the X-Men to take out a Brood invasion, as foreseen by Ulysses.
And it appears Magneto may be very interested. Strangely in a way, say, he wasn't as interested in the mutant Destiny.
Civil War II: Kingpin #1 has the Ulysses perspective from yet another point of view. Apparently, it's all a game and the rules have changed…
Over in Captain America: Sam Wilson #11, still dealing with the death of Jim Rhodes…
the decision to calm the nation with faceless private company goons taking the place of police on the street….
…has gone exactly the way you may expect. Don't these people ever watch Robocop?
Bruce Banner is dealing with his Hulkessness over in Totally Awesome Hulk. And underlining how little of a threat he is to anyone now, no matter what Ulysses says. By giving himself the sniffles.
Yeah, he needs that cold like he needs an arrow in his head. Spider-Woman finds that Civil War II is giving her a very different kind of headache.
A character complaining about Marvel's Event planning strategy? "Gobble" "Heh heh." Over in Invincible Iron Man, Mary Jane Watson is providing cover for Tony Stark. Somehow.
And it's not a Civil War crossover, in Amazing Spider-Man she's getting into the Iron Spider costume from the original Civil War to take on Regent.
Which all sounds very familiar…
