How Civil Warry Is Your Civil War II Crossover? Captain Marvel To… Detective Comics?
There are a bunch more Marvel Civil War II crossovers published today. But some are hardly even pretending to be Civil War II crossovers. So, depending what you want from your Marvel Comics, which should you choose? We'll be scoring them with Bruce Banner heads, the more heads the more Civil Warry the comic book.
Yup, Detective Comics #939. Which, with one scene, seems to have more to do with Civil War II than plenty of those comics published by Marvel with Civil War II on the cover, just by mentioning the name Ulysses.
You could probably give Wacky Raceland #3 similar for recreating a Greek myth for Penelope Pitstop around the character of Penelope who was the wife of Ulysses.
Exactly.
Certainly more Civil Warry than Deadpool #17
Which at least manages to use the "predicted". And admitted it fully.
So, it gets one.
Which is more than New Avengers which baffles me. Almost as if they
Though it does have the upside of being a very clever superhero comic that totally upends its audience, plays with unreliable narration and makes you revisit all your previous issues of the series to see how it all looks now. By the way, this is what they made up back in issue 3.
See, you may have had to pay $3.99 but now you get to read the comics all over again. Ans Secret Wars for that matter.
Slices. But no Banner heads.
It is joined in that endeavour by Venom Space Knight #11. Again, a massive Civil War II cover logo, but not even a mention on the inside, except to say that Venom is back on Earth to help Carol. Except not helping in this issue. And not doing anything vaguely linked to Civil War II.
So no Banner heads at all, again.
Captain America: Steve Rogers also has nothing to do with Civil War II, but at least he manages to throw a little shade on it.
And to remind you what the hell Thanos was wanting back when he killed off War Machine. So that's something. Also, a really good superhero comic.
Whereas Captain Marvel might as well be Civil War II #3.1, it is so, so Civil Warry. Whether it's Ulysses' powers being refined…
Making plans with a sceptical Black Panther…
Or even having a sit down shouting match with Hawkeye about his killing of a certain HUlk. This is the Civil Warriest it can get.
Enough to make you Civil Weary?
