So How Come The Human Torch Can't Buy Back The Baxter Building? (Amazing Spider-Man #790 SPOILERS)
Amazing Spider-Man #790 by Dan Slott, Christopher Gage, Stuart Immonen, Wade Von Grawbadger and Marte Gracia is published by Marvel Comics today. And is dealing with the post-Secret Empire post-Parker Industries world of Spider-Man, full of apologies and payback.
As well as the fact that Parker Industries owned the Baxter Building when Reed Richards and Sue Storm were off being gods somewhere. That was two years ago in real time, and Parker made a promise to keep it that way.
You know, do the Thing and Human Torch even know that's what happened to Reed and Sue anymore? I should check that out sometime.
It's been a long two years. And now, in today's Amazing Spider-Man, it's time to break that promise. Because that is what Spider-Man does these days. And liquidate the Baxter Building.
Hang on, Human Torch only worth sixteen grand? Aside from the whole boy racer lifestyle that should need funding, last month's Uncanny Avengers had a different story…
Billions coming his way. Admittedly, he had to pay taxes on all that…
But that should have left a few billion over to buy back the Baxter Building.
Once he could cover his burning reflux issues. He is the Human Torch after all. As it stands, he should have money to burn… or at least a good reason why not.
You know, that's one way to make it slightly more affordable I guess.
See today's Action Comics and Detective Comics for a very different way of addressing continuity issues….
