Titans: Beast Boy Actor Praises the Crew and Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson
There are a lot of superhero TV shows out there right now. There are so many that you're likely going to forget a few of them are in development until someone reminds you. That is the case for Titans, the live action Teen Titans show that DC is going to debut on their streaming service sometime this year. We know almost nothing about it but according to Beast Boy actor Ryan Potter, in an interview with Discussing Film, the production is going well.
"This has been one of the coolest projects I've had the chance to work on. The people on this project are so good at what they do. I'm blown away every day I go to set."
Potter was sworn to secretcy the same way anyone working on anything superhero related is but he did give some praise to Brenton Thwaites who is playing Dick Grayson.
"That's all I think I'm actually allowed to say but Brenton is killing it. I really enjoy working with him. He's always working with the writers and the directors in terms of bringing as much authenticity to these characters as possible."
Thwaites wasn't the only thing Potter praised in the interview. He also said, as a fan, that this is what he would want and also had some very kind words to say about the cinematography in particular.
"I am so excited to be a part of this project because that everything I've seen so far and everything that I've read is — as a fan — what I would want. … The cinematography on this show is absolutely unbelievable… I don't like relating the people that work on this show to other people but if anybody is familiar with Nicolas Winding Refn in terms of like Only God Forgives and Drive, it's a little bit of that quality."
We only have a summary and a few images to go by when it comes to Titans but perhaps we'll learn more soon. DC needs to remind people that this show is happening so they tune it otherwise it's going to get lost in the Arrowverse and everything Marvel is doing.
Summary: "Titans explores one of the most popular comic book teams ever. It follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire, Raven and others." Titans, created by Greg Berlanti, Akiva Goldsman, and Geoff Johns, stars Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Lindsey Gort, Alan Ritchson, Minka Kelly, and Ryan Potter. It will premiere on DC streaming service sometime in 2018.
