Last weekend saw the tragic death of Marvel Entertainment's Tahlia Hein from a stroke. She was only 32.
An incredibly popular person, her social media feed is full of hundreds and hundreds of people expressing their sorrow, and with every day it appears that more people have learned of the loss of a friend and share their stories of how special and supportive she was, with links to her writing work. This piece about getting tattoos has been a favourite.
Her position was Manager, Video Content and Distribution at Marvel Entertainment. Her last messages on social media saw her proud of the work she was doing for Marvel, getting their live San Diego Comic-Con video feed working successfully.
tfw everything in your personal life was bonkers insane today but your experimental SDCC livestream set-up ACTUALLY WORKED so now you are just watching a feed of people in pure bliss

She was well known to a number of us at Bleeding Cool. Madeline Potts, who attended San Diego Comic-Con for us this weekend, wrote:
The internet is a scary place, but Femsplain and the community it provided made it a lot less scary. Women like Tahlia encouraged me to be honest, real, and courageous in my writing. While I wasn't one of Tahlia's close personal friends I always felt her support through Twitter. Over the years we reacted to each other's tweets and exchanged comments back and forth. To Tahlia's friends and family who had the privilege of knowing her IRL, I am sending you my prayers and virtual hugs. Tahlia was an incredible writer, and it was with her encouragement and kindness that I found my voice on the internet.
Her memorial service will be held on Friday in New Jersey with a viewing this evening. Marvel Comics told us:
'Tahlia was a joyous individual with a vibrant passion for life and a voracious work ethic. We grieve her passing, and we express our deepest sympathy and support to her family, friends, and all those who were inspired by her.'
From all at Bleeding Cool, her friends and family are in our thoughts. Rest in peace, Tahlia.
