Looking at 'Inspiration' For Francesco Mattina's Detective Comics #1000 Exclusive Cover for Midtown Comics

These are Francesco Mattina's exclusive covers of Detective Comics #1000 for Midtown Comics. $18 for the first, $25 for the second.

With a slightly different version painted over for a second virgin variant.

Of course, it's the allegations of painting over other images that have caused Francesco Mattina a little grief in recent weeks. And so it is with this image. Such as this Frank Miller Dark Knight homage, a private commission from Gabrielle Del'Otto, posted online by its owner, Octavio D.
