Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a game in Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise. It was developed by Ubisoft Quebec as the 11th major installment in the franchise. Odyssey released for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 5, 2018.
Odyssey is set in the year 431BC during the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta. The player can choose whether to control a male or female mercenary or "misthios" who fights for both sides of the war as they attempt to unite their family and also root out a malicious cult.
As is the usual for games in the Assassin's Creed franchise, players also control a modern-day assassin. In Assassin's Creed Odyssey, players take on the role of Layla Hassan who was introduced in Assassin's Creed Origins to replace Desmond Miles as the series' protagonist.
