After The Crash – ComiXology All Over The World

If you were paying attention to Bleeding Cool news over the past weekend (and of course you were!) you know that this was a big week for ComiXology, with CEO David Steinberger being featured in The New York Times and Marvel offering a free comic promotion through the ComiXology platform. Ultimately it was too much for their servers to handle and the promotion was suspended. Which was handy or we wouldn't have had much of a chart, and those Wednesday new comics still do count for somthing. ComiXology has vowed to get the promotion back up and running sometime in the near future; but for the time being let us take a look at the standard comic sales for the week.

Age of Ultron continues to be a big seller with its second issue, though it has taken a step down from its lofty status of the debut issue. It's the old stalwarts Batman and The Walking Dead that hold the strongest sales for the week. Injustice: Gods Among Us has managed to make itself felt in the top 10 lists yet again, perhaps proving that the low price model for this comic was an exemplary marketing choice.

It always warms my heart to see Batman: Li'l Gotham top Japan's sales chart. There just seems to be something so right about that pairing. It's great to see China catch on to last year's phenomenal indie title Wizzywig. Ed Piskor, who famously teamed with the late Harvey Pekar on American Splendor, made a fantastic writing debut with this book. If you missed this one do yourself a favor and check it out. There is a joke in here about Foxconn and Steve Jobs #1 being a top seller in China, but perhaps that one is best left unsaid.
You've got to hand it to Greece: it takes a lot of faith to have back-to-back weeks of a book titled SCAM topping their sales chart. Maybe they're just a little bit wiser from dealing with their recession.
