Archie Comics Gets A New "Legacy" Style From Dan Parent

Creator of Archie character Kevin Keller, Dan Parent, is launching a new comic series Your Pal Archie, out in July is written and inked by Ty Templeton. And, as Archie publishes the character in the Riverdale style, the Waid/Staples revamp style, the classic digest style and the horror zombie style. Dan Parent has a new look for the new comic.

Parent tells the Washington Post that the Riverdale influence is "more of a fashion makeover for me. I've changed the hairstyles a bit, and the clothes. And the faces are a little more detailed, but the line work is still the simple classic lines I've always used… I hate over-rendering and too many lines, so I won't go there. Less is more."

Aside from when it comes to Archie's frame that is, then more is more. with a buffer frame, closer to Riverdale actor K.J. Apa.

The series will be edited by Victor Gorelick, who is now in his 60th year with Archie Comics.
