Being A VIP At NYCC
Getting a four day pass for the New York Comic Con will set you back $85. As well as saving $30 on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday day rates, you'll also get in the on Thursday for Preview Night, and get the chance to drain the publishers dry of exclusives…
But have you considered upgrading to VIP status?
There are a number of options. There's the full blown NYCC VIP Status for $400 which puts you at the front of the queue every day, seating at the IGN Theatre, tickets to the Jay And Silent Bob podcast show, signings with Matt Fraction and Frank Quitely and a stack of variant comics. And with a big hole in your wallet.
But it's not your only VIP option.
Avatar Press, owners of Bleeding Cool, has another for $275.
You get the Preview Night, you get the early entrance, but instead of the seating and the signings, you get… well.
Eleven hardcovers and trade paperbacks – Crossed Vol 1 TPB, Crossed Vol 2 TPB Crossed 3D Hardcover, Night of the Living Dead Vol 1 Signed HC, Night of the Living Dead Vol 2 HC, Gravel Vol 1 TPB, Gravel Vol 2 TPB, Gravel Vol 3 TPB, Black Gas TPB, and Fevre Dream TPB, with Garth Ennis, Mike Wolfer and Jacen Burrows on hand to sign them.
Then you've got exclusive variants, Crossed: Badlands Opening Salvo VIP by Garth Ennis and Jacen Burrows limited to 350 copies, War Goddess #1 NYCC VIP by Mike Wolfer limited to 250 copies and then all 21 Crossed Red covers given to retailers as incentives for ordering the series so far.
Then there's the Crossed Trading Card set, the debut of the Crossed Black Duffle bag, the Crossed Wish You Were Here Notebook with pen, the Crossed Black Messenger Bag, the Crossed Cotton/Mesh Trucker Cap and Crossed Stainless Steel Travel Mug.
Basically, put all that on eBay (especially signed) and you should make your money back. Might even pay for a few drinks too…
