Bleeding Cool Bestseller List – 22nd March 2015 – Princess Leia Beats X-Men, Spider-Man And Batman Again

Image (148)This is the Top Ten Bleeding Cool Bestseller List, as compiled by a number of comic stores from their sales on Wednesday and Thursday. It measures what are known as the "Wednesday Warriors", those who can't wait to the weekend to get this week's comics. We salute you, and the keenness you bring to your passion.

Second issue in and it's still doing all right. Princess Leia #2 outsells X-Men, Batman and Spider-Man this week, Batgirl storms up the charts on the wings of controversy, Silk drops and Outcast and Chrononauts also make the top ten

  • 1. Princess Leia #2
  • 2. All New X-Men #39
  • 3. Batman Eternal #50
  • 4. Amazing Spider-Man #16.1
  • 5. Batgirl #40
  • 6. Superman #39
  • 7. Silk #2
  • 8. Outcast #7
  • 9. Batgirl Endgame #1
  • 10. Chrononauts #1

Thanks to the following retailers

Who had this to say,

And this is what they had to say,

ALL the Hype …and BatGirl #1 takes the number 1st spot and Batgirl Endgame takes the 3rd spot. Leia takes 2nd as Silk takes the 7th spot. Outcast comes in strong and Spread takes 9th, however if we had ordered more would be in top 3 spots. Most talk is about Convergence and pre-orders are very strong on this book.  Back issues continue to be a big portion of every stack.

Strong showing by Silk. About 1/2 of Spider-Gwen, but still strong. Leia did well, but she's no Darth. Amazing Spider-Man #16.1 needed to be pushed and told that its not a file story like 700.1. Chrononauts came out of the gate strong.

Princess Leia isn't doing the numbers that Star Wars and Darth Vader are doing for us, but the people who are getting really like it. Surprised to see the Batgirl Endgame make our top ten, had a lot of people pick it up who don't get the Batgirl solo title. Amazing Spider-Man #16.1 did a laughable amount when compared to our regular Amazing Spidey numbers. When will Marvel learn that no one cares about "point" issues?

Lots of people are coming in and snapping up back issues for Black Vortex. It's turning into a pretty big sleeper hit for Marvel. We've also had people coming in looking for issues 4, 5, and 6 of the recent Amazing Spider-Man relaunch. Looks like Silk's becoming a pretty hot character right now!

Lots of sell outs this week. Amazing Spider-Man,Princess Leia and Bat-girl, thanks to the bottom feeders that created something out of nothing. Glad that the nothing was really accomplished with that since that image will be on the internet….forever. At least the original art should pay for a new car when sold.

DC comics were that movers on the back-issue market. Batman obviously and even the 3D covers for both sets are now on the hunt for new collectors.

Batman Eternal weekly closing out strong. Silk #2 held up nicely. Movie poster variants definitely receiving some attention.

Deadpool gives a bump to Hulk and it's nice to see Batgirl still moving well. Of course, a bit of purple rain didn't hurt either…

So-so week in sales but a lot of really great books out.

Women-led books took our top 4 spots this week. Buffy, two Batgirls and Princess Leia.
Captain America and the Mighty Avengers is outselling All New Cap for us.

Outcast has been underperforming for a Kirkman book, even with the knowledge of it becoming a show.
Chrononauts is doing about as well as MPH did upon its release, meaning not very well either.

DC action figures keep selling like crazy. Arrow & Capullo Designer Series are especially popular.
