Will Marvel Announce a Secret Brian Keene Project Tomorrow?

Award-winning and highly flammable horror novelist Brian Keene is teasing a new comic book project on Twitter today, to be announced tomorrow, and our best guess based on the clues is that it's a project for Marvel Comics. Keene, who occasionally moonlights from his lucrative career in "real books" to slum it in the comics business, posted on Twitter:

Note the use of "true believers," a phrase most often associated with Marvel and the late Stan Lee, in Keene's tweet, which is the best clue we have as to the nature of the project. Of course, Keene could also be using the phrase because he has finally decided to make the best use of his isolated rural Pennsylvania compound and started a cult.

However, the Marvel theory was bolstered when Scott Edelman chimed in with a second reference to Marvel and Lee, using Lee's trademark exclamation, "Excelsior."

So is that what's happening? Well, we have to admit we don't know for sure. But one thing we can be sure of is that two clickbait articles about a secret Brian Keene comics project are better than one, so we'll speculate today, and then we'll find out in a second article what the truth of the matter is tomorrow.

Now that's something that makes us want to say: Excelsior!
